The Horn on the bottom of the handle protects your knuckles from bashing into the ice and provides hand support for leashless climbing. It can also be removed if you need a clean shaft profile for planting the shaft on moderate terrain. The included Easy G leash can be easily operated with any size gloves on and provides excellent support for steep ice, making it perfect for the mountains.
