Product Description The K2 Shuksan Alpine Touring Ski derives its name from a Nooksack Indian word meaning steep and ruggedplus it's the name of an imposing peak in the North Cascades of Washington. Built to the specifications of respected mountain guide Martin Volken, who needed a lightweight but tough touring ski for psycho tours and first descents, the Shuksan holds its own in the gnarliest (and the nicest) conditions. A 117mm shovel and 78mm waist provide plenty of float in soft snow and edge grip on steep and icy sections. No wimpy-flexing touring ski, the Shuksan is constructed with two sheets of metal and a lightweight wood core. It's a ski you can really stand on. Whether your focus is on first descents or simply first tracks, this ski will not disappoint.
Bottom Line: Ski down as confidently as you skinned up on the Shuksan.
