Slightly wider than Madshus's racing skis, the Megasonic provides a more stable platform to learn on, with a forgiving flex that's a lot less likely to take you unawares and make you eat snow. The Megasonic retains Madshus's fast bases and treatment, so as your technique improves, you'll really be able to haul without shelling out for new skis. The Megasonics are light too, less than a quarter pound heavier than their world cup cousins. This is a perfect beginner or recreational skate ski that still rips like a racer.
