The stretchy shell weighs only 12 ounces—it's easy to climb in and won't unnecessarily weigh down your pack. Super light pit zips open to dump heat, and they'll never leaks since they're welded instead of stitched. Welding seams makes the jacket easier to pack, stronger and gives it more stretch. Mountain Hardwear's Conduit Silk coating makes water bead and roll off without using a laminate, so it's lighter and more breathable than Gore-Tex, though not quite as durable.
