The X-ium Skate is available in two versions; choose the one that better matches your skiing style. The S1 offers maximum performance, speed and lightness to optimize performance in conditions where very high speeds are possible. Cold weather racers, the S1 is for you. The S2 is a more all-around skating ski; it's stable and easy to use. It's for someone who demands high-end performance and skis in a variety of snow types and temperatures. Rossignol gave both the S1 and S2 their Racing Cobra sidecut, designed for extremely free-flowing and stable skiing. This system enables a quicker return to the steering axis at the end of the gliding phase. The honeycomb core of the X-ium Skate Ski is a very light material that lends consistent camber and compression making it easier to get into a skate rhythm. Rossignol also gave their X-ium Skate Ski their Dualtec construction for fluid, effective gliding. Dualtec is an active Cap with vertical sidewalls made from Triax; a rigid material that gives skiers optimum energy transmission.
