The high cuff supports your ankle and a nylon shank in the midsole makes the boot torsionally stiff, giving you more control over your skis. The NNN sole on the X1 works only with Rottefella, Rossignol, or Alpina bindings, and not any BC or Salomon bindings. The X1 Nordic ski boot is a perfect companion to short-cut, waxless skis.
