The Silvretta Pure Alpine Touring Binding is probably a result of the nasty uphills in the Alps that Silvretta engineers have to climb. The Pure is mind-bendingly light at 1200 grams (2.7 lbs) and has a unique pivot point mounted under the ball of the foot for a natural, comfortable stride with less moving parts. In keeping with its easy touring goal, the Pure's dual position climbing bar is easy to adjust with a ski pole on the fly. Brakes and crampons are both available, and can be used simultaneously. The 35mm rise of the Pure lets you crank over onto your edges and give the hill hell, which it deserves for making you climb it.
